Consultations with the doctors are by appointment and are usually bookable on the day you wish to be seen. A limited number of pre-bookable appointments are available in each surgery for up to one month in advance.
We also have an online booking system, with each doctor having one online appointment per clinic. These are only bookable by the patients themselves through the patient access system. Please contact the surgery if you would like to know more about this. We cannot set this up over the phone, so if you would like to use patient access, you will have to drop in to reception who can provide you with the instructions.
We advise you to telephone as soon after 8.00am as possible as appointments go very quickly. If you do not call until later in the day we cannot guarantee a same day appointment and you may be directed to other services. We always try to book morning surgeries first so that later appointments are available to those who work and we would appreciate your co-operation in accepting a morning appointment if possible.
So that we can make the best use of the appointments available each day, the reception staff have been asked by the partners to request details of your problem. This is so that the Clinician has an idea of the problem before the consultation. All information given will be treated confidentially and we hope you will not be offended.
Our specialist clinics and nurses surgeries are also bookable in advance.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
Appointments are a valuable part of General Practice and we do ask that if you are unable to keep an appointment you let us know so that it can be offered to someone else. Where possible, text reminders will be sent for all appointments booked, with the option to cancel the appointment if it is no longer required. Please ensure that we have up to date contact details for you.
If you can not make your appointment let us know as soon as you can so another patient can book the appointment time. You can cancel or change your appointment:
Extended Access Appointments
The Practice also provides additional appointments as part of the extended access scheme. Appointments are available on a Monday evening between 6.30pm and 8.00pm and at 7.30am on a Wednesday morning for Medication reviews. The surgery now holds clinics on Saturdays for the monitoring of long tern conditions.
We may also be able to offer you appointments at other Practices during the week or offer a GP appointment at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital on a Saturday. These appointments may not be with a Clinician from this practice but with your consent the Clinician will have access to your electronic medical record.
For more information and to book please speak to a member of our Reception Team.

Home Visits
These are available for the housebound rather than those with transport difficulties. Please ring the surgery before 11.00am. Reception staff will ask for a few details (name address and telephone number) and the reason for the request.
The doctor will ring you back to make an assessment and discuss the most appropriate way forward (some problems may be suitable for telephone advice or a nurse visit). The surgery is part of a proactive home visiting programme and the visit will be completed via this team of Clinicians.Children who are unwell come to no harm by being wrapped up and brought to the surgery.
